Hometown Honoree: Cade stover

FOR LOVE OF LEXINGTON

Working to pursue your dreams looks different for many people. An aspiring young farmer helping grow his family farm from a couple acres and 2 Angus cows combined with an unrivaled athletic drive that makes history, playing in more varsity games than any other athlete in Lexington history is the work ethic of a hometown hero in the making. The hallways, courts and fields were his home, clenching the program basketball record for rebounds and scoring in basketball. After sweeping state accolades such as Ohio’s Mr. Football and Gatorade’s Player of the Year completing over 2,000 yards rushing and 200 points, Cade Stover, walked the field as a student athlete at Lexington High School for the final time, graduating in 2019. Although his story and hard work wasn’t ending, it was just beginning as he headed to Columbus to write his next chapters with THE Ohio State University.

A few short years later, as Cade prepares to kick off his final season as captain of THE beloved Buckeyes, we are honored to celebrate his imprint on this town and what he loves most about the village while together making a difference.

What do you love most about the village?

“Everyone knows everyone. There are no strangers when it comes to Lexington and all the people are pleasant and good to be around”

“Lexington has shaped me into the man I am today. With a tight knit community and the great people that come along with it.”

JUST A GLIMPSE INTO His FUTURE ASPIRATIONS:

Currently I am entering my last season at Ohio state playing football. My family still lives in Lexington on our family farm. I plan to go to the NFL play for a while and then come back to Lexington and find myself a farm to run for the rest of my life.

HOW HE TAKES His COFFEE:

Cade’s go-to beverage of choice at Nickel & Bean is our salted caramel latte.

“I like any kind of sweet coffee, I’m not tough enough to drink it black yet”

#EVERYNICKELCOUNTS

cade stover selects St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as his every nickel counts recipient

As of September 1st, a nickel of each item purchased will be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

St. Jude is a specialty research hospital for children, not a general children’s hospital. We focus on providing exceptional care to patients with pediatric cancer and other catastrophic diseases. Acceptance to St. Jude is generally based upon having a disease that we treat and study, and may be based on potential eligibility for an open clinical trial.

As one of the largest pediatric cancer research hospitals in the world, St. Jude treats more than 8,000 patients each year . We believe a child should live as typical a childhood as possible, even when battling life-threatening diseases. That’s why most of our patients are treated as outpatients and stay in one of our housing facilities with rooms specifically designed and managed by us for families of children with cancer and other diseases.
