Hometown Honoree: ABIGAIL (ABBY) KAUFMAN

Abagail was honored as Miss Richland County’s Outstanding Teen in 2012

FOR LOVE OF LEXINGTON

Abby has called Lexington home for her entire life. She believes the sense of home Lexington emanates is the direct result of its tight-knit, dynamic community, which is full of residents who are ever-ready to help one another and are dedicated to giving back. From Abby’s childhood to adulthood, Lexington has always been a wonderful place to live.

Tell us about growing up in Lexington:

Abby’s early memories of Lexington consist of listening to Mid-Ohio races during the summertime, attending the Blueberry Festival, swinging by JB’s for an ice cream cone, hanging out at the Infield, and swimming at the Clear Fork Swimming Pool. Additionally, Abby enjoyed eight years of dancing with the Lexington Academy of Dance, even going on to assist teaching classes.

Throughout her childhood, Abby also enjoyed competing in a multitude of pageants, such as Miss Lexington and Miss Ohio’s Outstanding Teen pageant.

In 2012, Abby was honored to reign as Miss Richland County’s Outstanding Teen, an opportunity which she utilized to spread awareness of Skin Cancer in honor of her uncle who battled Skin Cancer.

A 2014 graduate of Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow (ECOT), Abigail was awarded the ECOT Eagle Pride award four times for academic achievement and graduated as one of the top three in her class, which consisted of over 2,500 students.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Still a Lexington resident to this day, Abigail is currently engaged with two children and works for Mechanics Bank. Today, you can catch her spending time with her family, attending car shows, and assembling jigsaw puzzles. Abby loves giving back to some of her favorite local businesses such as Nickel and Bean, Kimmyscucina, Blueberry Patch, Uncle John’s Place, and Apple Hill Orchard.
